Vale of Clwyd MP candidate Dr James Davies welcomed the positive news that North Wales Police will be able to recruit 62 extra police officers next year to help keep our streets safe.
This comes after the Conservative government announced £100 million of additional ring-fenced funding to pay for increased police presence and patrolling to make our streets safer.
Commenting on the announcement, James said:
“This is just the start of action being taken to crack down on crime and make our streets safer. The Government is equipping police officers with the powers and resources they need to protect themselves and others from harm.
“Through empowering the police to help keep our communities safe we are sending a clear message to criminals to think twice before committing offences.
“It is vital that we see the benefits here in the Vale of Clwyd, on our streets and in our community. For too long North Wales residents have been left out in the cold when it comes to getting our fair share of resources. We’re committed to doing all we can to make sure we see the benefits here in the Vale of Clwyd.”
